Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE MED/94295566 AB We report a human immunodeficiency virus antibody-negative, profoundly uremic patient who presented with a CD4+ T lymphocyte count of 133/mm3, a CD8+ T lymphocyte count of 77/mm3, and a CD3+ T lymphocyte count of 259/mm3. These values decrease significantly below reported levels in other lymphopenic uremic patients. High-efficiency chronic hemodialysis resulted in correction of these cytopenias to a normal range within 12 weeks.
